My best national holidays

National holidays that I most remember and that I enjoyed, were the last year, because I did many activities during the three holidays, 17,18 and 19 September. I remember I ate a lot for those days and I shared with my family.

On September 17, morning I prepared empanadas for lunch the next day, I enjoyed stuffed them and cooking them with my mom. Then, for lunch with my family, we made barbecued meat, a roasted potato salad with mayonnaise, tomato, onion and lettuce. I remember that at that time I shared with my brother, my mom and uncles who came to visit.

Later, my boyfriend picked me up and we went your home together to enjoy with your family barbecued meat. Her home was decorated with garland on the patio, a table full of food and a delicious Chilean meat aroma welcomed us. For this meeting, attended  many relatives because was  birthday number 80 of  grandmother my boyfriend's. We laughed, talked, ate until to say enough!

The next day, with my boyfriend went to my aunt's house to celebrate. My mom, my uncles, my cousins, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the empanadas that I cooked with my mom and then ate  choripanes  while some cuecas accompany our joy of being together.

In the afternoon,  with my cousins and my boyfriend went to the fondas of the National Stadium to play shooting, table soccer, take aim at the bottle, among others. When it got dark, we went to drink some sweets earthquakes.

My special friend

I have a friend named Fernanda Hidalgo, I know her since elementary school and at the beginning, I was not related well to her because I was prejudiced. One day we were forced to do activities and seat share. Since then, we could not stop laughing together.

Over time we met and we were surprised because although they are very different, there were things that unite us as be talkative, be responsible, we have the same sense of humor and we appreciate our differences of opinion.

Before we shared every day because we studied at the same school at the primary and secondary education. It was nice that time because although each of us was defining its own personality and meeting new friends, never distance ourselves. We grew up together, we had a great time at my grandmother's house because she was a teacher and helped us with our homework, she took care of us and she had fun with us.

Now that both are in different universities, we can´t get together that often, but we try to get together whenever we can, especially for birthdays and holidays.

The best thing about my friend is that although many days pass without being with her, when we turn to us rediscover there the same confidence and love of always.
In addition, life taught us that the best is in the different and the best advice can appear of  a friendship like ours,  that now serving 11 years.

First Semester

If the last year was strange with all the problems related to protest educational and academic stoppage. This year seemed normal, but the government demands for reforms to education not disappeared and returned the unrest.

In my case, I studied journalism at the University of Chile, home of research known for his concern for social issues, I was concerned and involved in student petitions and demonstrations of resistance. My career requires me to know today, and with the history of the struggle of the students seems to have not a happy ending.

Excitedly I began studying the first half, my family was happy because the seven months I had spent in stoppage has left me unable to do my practice. However, my regular classes allowed me to start writing my Memory with my friends about the political role of the media in context mobilizing educational in the 2011, learn to work and enjoy the TV production team and handle the basics of making a website.

Now we went back to paralyze classes, I'm working in the News Citizen of Radio Juan Gomez Millas, I continue research in my Memory, I'm with my friends and  I share with my boyfriend. Furthermore, personally for my birthday in May, I got a guitar and I'm learning to play it and I pretend to know how to play a "cueca" in this September 18.

My city

I was born walking the streets of Santiago, in the decade of the de 90, where the combination of trees and hills returned the typical peasant past and modernity of the country quickly took the music, fashion, technology, real estate, and means of transport.

I grew up in a middle class neighborhood where neighborhood was an important sense of union. I always admired the few good public schools but I study in a small subsidized private school, I travelled in the tight yellow buses which ones caused more pollution, and lived subway extension so I know many of the districts of the city and I can say that I dislike inequality but appreciate the diversity that exists in my city.

They said that "Santiago is the center of the country" and eventually discovered that is true. Top universities, health center, heritage sites, cultural events, restaurants, organizations, until the presidential palace is located here, and must be for the same reason many immigrants from our near countries come to visit.

I like where I live because all people are active, join in the festivities and decorate the streets with different motives.
However, individualism, stress and huge buildings around us darken the colors of each season. Indeed, we must retain the green areas that facilitate coexistence and give life to the city.
