Chilean heart

At this moment, I can hardly think of a Chilean of all time, however, when ask me to think of someone today that symbolizes the essence of Chile, I believe that the actor and folklorist Daniel Munoz has that role.

His musical roots from childhood inserted him into the world of the cueca and folklore, leading to today as the lead singer of folk group "3 x 7 Blackjack" that promotes urban cueca elegant. By participating in the Festival of Viña, last year the band demonstrated between guitars, accordions and stomping, the love of country and its traditions.

Also, Daniel excels in her starring role of Juan Herrera in the series the 80 (Winner Altazor). The character that represents is the typical Chilean man, middle-class, sexist, traditionalist, worker and small businessman who has to support his family, guide the growth of each of their children, be a good husband and tackle the social context that existed at that time.

Meanwhile, the actor has participated in the casts of the most famous films of national production, The Sentimental Chacotero, Taxi for Three and Radio Heart, the three films very distinctive in language, personality, atmosphere and culture that to make special  Chile.

Finally, if I had the chance to interview this Chilean  I would to ask the next questions, you through his work  showing affection to their country? Are you satisfied with your job? What do you think they need to Chileans to feel more passion for their land?

My favorite present

I remember that a few days before my 17th birthday I went shopping with my mom and at a store I saw a wonderful prom dress. I liked it because it was a gray dress with corset back and flights on the skirt. I, instantly, I dreamed wearing the dress for my high school graduation, so I told my mom I wanted this gift for my birthday. However, she not took me no attention.

Every day I went wherever I could to see the dress and check if he was still in the store.
For my birthday I hoped I to break the paper from my gift and that  inside was my dress, but it was not. So, I convinced myself that my mom did not mind my desire.

Anyway, I'm not materialistic so I not frustrated and I thought that the dress had already been exhausted, so I decided to forget it.

Time passed and arrived on Christmas Eve, my mom asked me what I wanted for this date and I gave her many alternatives: a machine hair straightening, kitchen items, a book, etc.

Arriving Christmas dinner and the time to open presents, my mom hands me his, I carefully open it and I got a big surprise, was the dress of my dreams!

I remember that at that time, I cried with joy and I was thrilled to tears. Mom hugged me tightly and I told her he loved and I thank her for making my dreams come true. It was a Christmas miracle.

Welcome to the University

My first day of University  I was nervous and anxious because it is tradition that the classmates  to give a fellow welcome painting and cutting off their clothes of the begginers, then force them out to the street to ask for money to do a celebration days.

Additionaly I was happy to begin my class of writing with my classmates, on this day teacher “Gugo” gave us a surprise test of current events that contained very questions that show bussines. Together shared us the answers but to some time we were frightened because we knew that we were to fall into the trap in that the teacher was accomplice.

Later the older students arrived with the scissors, string and paint. they dirty us and they would set a quota of money to bring to University. I remember that I participated in a dance activity for I will drop the amount of money.

Then I with my partner "Cota" we went out to ask for money. I remember that the streets around the university were full of students asking for money so my partner took a "transantiago" to Providence, not paid, luckily they let us go up because we smelled bad.

Along the way, we got to know us, between conversation and conversation, we realized we had things in common. We get money quickly, apparently people saw us with pity. when we went back to university, we were tired, we walked a lot and shared a lot, but eventually we came back with the money long before that other students.

It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience to begin studying at the University, days later we had a very enjoyable party at the Institute of Communication and Image.
